Design and Implementation of Trainings for Improvement of Secondary Schools, Morocco

In a nutshell

In the context of improving the employability of young people through the improvement of the quality of secondary education and technical and vocational education this project strengthens the capacities and the professionalization of managerial and pedagogical executive staff in 90 beneficiary secondary schools located in three target regions Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Fès-Meknès and Marrakech-Safi, with the aim of ensuring the durability and sustainability of the implemented training courses. Activities cover:

  • Implementation of the training strategy in three key domains: Pedagogical and didactic training; Management and Leadership, Transversal modules, including Gender and Social Inclusion (GIS).
  • Fostering the autonomy of pedagogic and administrative actors through the National Education Ministry portal, by gathering all training supports and materials online
  • Design and implementation of durable mechanisms for training management at the level of the three involved Regional Education and Training Academies and the National Education Department.

Achievements

  • Reduction in the disparities in educative capacities across secondary schools in the three target regions (along a social inclusion and gender inclusion principle);
  • Improvement in management and teaching/learning techniques, through trainings designed to fulfil the needs of the different actors within beneficiary schools.
  • Schools are supported in the capacity-building required to access greater autonomy and ensure the sustainability of the Integrated School Improvement Plan (PEI).
  • The local and regional specificities are respected, and the participation of different stakeholders in the design and planning of trainings is encouraged.
  • Innovative solutions are privileged, in particular the integration of new technologies in teaching methods as well as the integration of multiple intelligences within the teaching process.
