Expert forum in Pakistan commemorating Wold TB day/EPOS Health Management recieves "Best Partner and Outstanding Services Award"

Activities commemorating World TB day took place in Peshawar at the end of last month in the KfW-funded ‘Strengthening of the Tuberculosis Control Programme (STCP-FC)’ in Pakistan. Policy makers and senior health officials attended an advocacy seminar to disseminate the importance of TB, the services being provided by the TB Control Programme and the challenges being faced during implementation.

More than 250 people were present, including the Special Secretary for Health, key government planning and health officials, representatives from WHO, KFW and EPOS, humanitarian aid organisation staff and Medical College students. Further TB seminars will be held in four districts in April. Designed to build public awareness that tuberculosis remains an epidemic in much of the world, the Pakistan World TB event included national visibility through press, electronic media and public billboards.

During the event activities, EPOS Health Management and the project team led by Team Leader Mazhar Iqbal, received a ‘Best Partner and Outstanding Services Award’ by the Provincial TB Control Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
